Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Chicago visiting friends who joined us for their own staycation. It was a good chance to be a tourist in a city that we lived in for so long that we forget what it was like to see the city from a tourists perspective.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue specifically for their indoor Jr. Olympic size swimming pool. Friday and Saturday nights they have a 'dive-in movie' where they project a kids movie on a screen while kids play around in the pool. The pool was packed during that time, otherwise there was plenty of room in the heated pool for kids to play around with all the house provided floaties.
