Backyard Wildlife

I've gotten really into birds lately for some reason. I've talked to people about this. You get to a certain age then suddenly, one day, out of nowhere, you're interested in birds. I've taken it a step further now - I'm really into bird photography.

Sometimes I'll just go sit in the backyard with my camera and just wait. Wait for the chipmunks to attack our raspberry bushes or one of the cardinals to come hang out with us for a little bit. I love the cardinal's call.

It all started because the chipmunks have been stealing our raspberries off the bushes. This is the first year we actually have gotten raspberries off this bush, so I'm kind of protective of them. Normally the rabbits eat all of the stems down to the ground in the winter. But last winter we put up a fence to protect the raspberries over the winter and I'm super glad we did. They came back strong this year.
