Were heading up north last weekend and stopped in Duluth to get out of the car and walk around the canal/harbor for a little bit. We got there just in time to see the largest ship on the Great Lakes pass under the lift bridge into the harbor. I didn't get any photos of the ship, unfortunately; I was parking the car and dropped my wife and kiddo off so they could catch it with our friends. My and the dog caught up after it had mostly passed through.

I couldn't believe how many people where there to see this ship pass through. The staff working the point also gave a play-by-play and general overview of the ship as it passed through. We didn't know ahead of time this was going on, we just happened upon it as we pulled into town - you could see the ship making it's way toward the bridge from the big hill that overlooks the city so we decided to make a stop.

After seeing the ship pass through we walked down to the light house and then back to the car to head out of there. The waves must have been pretty big earlier in the day or the previous night as there were large puddles of standing water along the path to the light house. I overheard a lady wondering to herself why there wasn't a drain put in to drain the excess water. Now I'm wondering the same thing.
