Watermelon | September 26, 2026

We grew a few watermelons in the backyard this summer. We were only able to harvest one out of the four that grew from the vine. Two were eaten by chipmunks while still little and one broke open just before we harvested them.

I guess we let that one sit on the vine too long because it cracked right down the middle in a cool spiral design.

I took the cracked watermelon and broke it in half for the backyard critters to enjoy. Shortly after, I realized the bees also were in the mood for a late summer treat. 🍉🐝
