Backyard Bees

The onion flowers are coming into full bloom right now and the bees are loving them. I was able to use my Ricoh GRIIIx to get the close ups of the bees on the flowers in these photos.

We also harvested the smallest watermelon from the backyard watermelon patch this year. I put it up next to a quarter to give the scale of just how small it was before a chipmunk (I assume) knocked it off the vine. We ended up cutting it open but, sadly, it was not ready to eat. 😀

Normally, I'll sit outside with my zoom lens and Canon T6i to zoom in on the wildlife in the backyard. I love the Ricoh so much though. The bees were kind enough to let me get up close to them without getting in their way.
