Flickr MODE Festival | September 29, 2026

Flickr MODE Festival was last weekend in downtown Minneapolis. I had a pass for all three days but was only able to go to one day of the event.

The idea of MODE is really great - bring a bunch of photographers from around the world together - but the implementation wasn't done very well. I really wasn't sure what was going on and it seemed more like a random art installation than an actual festival.

Another thing that made it hard to find events was that the app was part of the Flickr app, but was really buggy. It wasn't user friendly so more than a few times I just said 'forget it' and closed the app without scheduling myself for a photowalk.

I love the idea of MODE and hope they come back next year with lower prices and a better format for the events.
